What age is youth?
At present we work with those aged mainly between 8 and 25 years. However, we will work with other people if appropriate and we feel we have the skills to do so.
What's in a name?
Following an organisational review in 2005, we decided to remain with the name Youth Support Services. It had been suggested that the name, although being apt, sounded too much like a statutory agency and that people could become confused over our identity. When speaking to staff, young people and partner agencies it became clear that they would normally refer to us as just YSS. So that is how we now refer to ourselves.
