The Recruitment Process
We aim to send out information and application packs within 48 hours of receiving a request for information. Following receipt of the completed application, we will endeavour to contact you within 24 hours to arrange a selection interview. At this meeting we will discuss the role of the volunteer, the different projects YSS undertakes and explore possible training dates.
We run a rolling training programme throughout the year. These are run on either weekdays or Saturdays in a range of locations throughout the areas we work in.
Following training, we will arrange a training debrief session on a one-to-one basis. This ensures that potentially you feel equipped to take on the role and to discuss any issues that may have arisen during the training.
Once a satisfactory enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check has been received together with references, you will be available to work on the projects you have expressed an interest in. Before becoming involved in any direct work, you will receive a full briefing and will be introduced to your YSS co-ordinator/project worker who will have overall responsibility for your work.
