YSS senior keyworker, Andy Shaw, is taking on a fundraising challenge of epic proportions in order to raise money to support some of the most marginalised people in society.

Andy, who has worked at YSS for nearly a decade, is taking part in the Dawn to Dusk Enduro event and has entered the 12 hour motorbike race along with his friend.

Now in its 17th year, Dawn to Dusk Enduro is set to return as the biggest and best endurance race in the UK. Taking place in the Brecon Beacons at Glynneath across the August bank holiday weekend, more than 500 riders will tackle undulating terrains, dense woodlands, narrow tracks, and gruelling open gravel rides.

He said: "I have been working for YSS for nearly 10 years now and over the years I have seen many people go without the necessities in life due to the lack of funding available.

"As a not for profit charity the money that YSS receives pays to run the projects, but very little else. I want to raise money to support people who are in crisis and in need of the basics in life, like food and clothing. These are items that many of us take for granted, but things that can make a great difference to someone's life.

"There is no doubt that the endurance event will be extremely difficult, however we have been training hard to ensure we are ready. Please support our cause and give as generously as you can! Thank you."
