Cayden meets High Sheriff We recently welcomed the High Sheriff of Herefordshire, James Hervey-Bathurst CBE DL, to showcase YSS and the No Wrong Door project in Hereford, where YSS staff are based. The High Sheriff met staff, service users and volunteers and heard about how we work in partnership to support the community in Herefordshire. Cayden Powell (pictured) is 15 years old and has been enjoying meeting up with Rachel Barbee as part of YSS' Diversionary service, Divert. With Divert, Cayden has been taking part in boxing classes at South Wye Boxing club; he has also been meeting up with his keyworker, Rachel in school, at No Wrong Door, at his home and at local events. Cayden was invited to the No Wrong Door event on the 19th November as an Ambassador for the Diversionary services. He met with Herefordshire's High Sheriff and his wife Lucy, and told them about the support he has received. Cayden said: "With YSS, I get to talk about what's going on in my life and my feelings which really helps me." YSS' Diversionary services, Arc and Divert, provide one to one support to 13 - 16 (Divert) and 16-24 year olds (Arc), who are in, or at risk of being involved in, the Criminal Justice System across West Mercia. The services provide one to one mentoring, activities and signposting to help young people avoid becoming involved in criminal activity.
