Eggs-travagant Easter donation Local recruitment agency, Randstad Business Support Worcester, recently made an eggs-tra special Easter delivery to YSS Worcestershire Young Carers, donating 50 chocolate Easter eggs. The kind-hearted company held a conference for 45 local business leaders who were each invited to bring an Easter egg, and named Worcestershire Young Carers at YSS as the local charity for the event. Jon Cawdron, Senior Project Coordinator for Worcestershire Young Carers, received the delivery earlier this week, commenting: “This is a wonderful gesture from Petra and her team. We are extremely grateful to everyone at Randstad for their generosity and look forward to giving the eggs out during our junior and senior young carers clubs.” Worcestershire Young Carers, a service delivered by independent charity YSS since 2003, supports over 450 young people aged between seven and 25 years old who have a caring role at home. This could be for a parent, sibling or grandparent due to illness, disability, physical or mental ill health or substance misuse. The caring role can be varied, ranging from administering medication to cooking, cleaning, helping to parent siblings or providing emotional support. As well as assessment and signposting, the service regularly delivers clubs and trips for young carers to enjoy. Jon added: “The upcoming Easter Activity Programme includes a trip to Hatton Country Park, an afternoon of bowling and a weekend away in London… we can’t wait! These activities are vital in giving young carers the chance to have some fun and take a break from their caring responsibilities.” To find out more about Worcestershire Young Carers or how you can support young carers in the county, please click here.
