A group of Worcestershire Young Carers (WYC) has been treated to a day’s luxury at a spa in Worcestershire, thanks to a new partnership with Richmond Villages Wood Norton.

The young adult carers were invited to use the luxurious spa facility by the retirement village, and each enjoyed use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room, as well as being treated to a facial. During the day they also enjoyed lunch with fellow carers from Gloucestershire Young Carers.

The invitation has been extended for the year, with a return visit planned for October, when they will also be making use of the state of the exclusive 12 seat cinema room.

WYC Key Worker Vicky Parker, who accompanied the group, said: “We all had such a lovely day, and it gave the young carers some time to relax and take time out for themselves. We’re really grateful to Wood Norton for hosting us and look forward to the next visit!”

Young carer Sarah*, said: “I really enjoyed it.  The venue was so lovely and all the staff were lovely too.  It gave me a chance to not have to worry and take time for myself.”
