Royal Visit for YSS Yesterday, Tuesday 10th September, HRH Princess Anne received our CEO Catherine Kevis, with Lorraine Preece, who stood down as YSS Chief Executive in June, at St James's Palace. Princess Anne is involved with over 200 charities and organisations in an official capacity, and is the Patron of YSS. The audience was arranged to mark the recent change of leadership at YSS. In February the new Chair, David Chantler and his predecessor, Susanna MacFarlane had a similar audience. The Princess Royal presented Lorraine with an official portrait to thank her for long service at YSS. YSS is also pleased to announce that as Patron, the Princess Royal will visit YSS at Hereford Football Ground on 8th November. Further information is to follow. Catherine Kevis said: "YSS is enormously fortunate to have Princess Anne as Patron. We take her endorsement very seriously and we know that her name brings attention to our local charity and the difficulties faced by the people we work with. I have never met a member of the Royal family before and feel privileged to have had the opportunity to meet her." YSS is an independent charity that provides a range of support services to adults, young adults, families and children throughout West Mercia (Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin). These include children as young as seven who are acting as young carers, families who need additional support and people coming out of prison. YSS aims to support and empower people to make positive choices and provides support that is tailored to each individual's needs.
