CJAG, the Worcester Diocese Criminal Justice Affairs Group, has published its Annual Report 2019-20.

CJAG was formed in March 2015 and has two aims:

  • to provide expert advice to the diocese on criminal justice matters
  • to raise public awareness and be catalysts of criminal justice-related social action.

Over the last year, YSS has held discussion groups with representatives from the spectrum of organisations involved in criminal justice to progress towards our aims. We have identified recurring themes across the organisations, which impinge on the successful rehabilitation of people:

  • accommodation
  • mental health
  • balancing trust and risk
  • hearing victims and survivors voices.

Over the course of the next year we will discuss community chaplaincy, mentoring schemes, equality issues for BAME communities and the reform of the probation service.
