I decided to run the London Marathon to raise money for young carers in Worcestershire after hearing more about the work YSS does to support young carers, from running monthly clubs to organising activities like horse riding or visiting the theatre. I was really surprised to learn there are estimated to be more than 3,000 young people in Worcestershire alone who recognise themselves as having a caring role at home, and I really want to do my bit to help.

If I am able to reach my fundraising goal of £650, it means that YSS, through its Worcestershire Young Carers service, will be able to take 15 young carers to the seaside this summer, to enjoy a break from their caring responsibilities, soak up the sun and enjoy some ice cream! Please give whatever you can to support these young people who deserve a break and the chance to enjoy just being young, without having to worry about looking after a parent, guardian or sibling.

As an added challenge I'm aiming to complete the race in three and a half hours or less! Any donation you can make, big or small, would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
