YSS Worcestershire Young Carers staff and volunteers recently completed off-site activity training to help prepare them to plan and deliver events in the community.

Not only does the Worcestershire Young Carers team deliver monthly clubs to hundreds of young people each year, they also provide day trips and activities during school holidays. It is therefore essential that they undertake regular training to ensure they are up-to-date with all legal obligations and best practices around health and safety.

Jon Cawdron, Worcestershire Young Carers Senior Project Co-ordinator, said: "The safety of our staff, young carers and volunteers is of paramount importance to YSS. This training ensures that we are prepared and equipped to deliver safe activities and minimise any risk. I was delighted that YSS is already carrying out the practices outlined in the training; it's great to be told we're doing things right and that our policies are accurate."

The training was led by Young Solutions Worcestershire and held at YSS Head Office.
