Worcestershire Young Carers is thrilled to be the recipient of a £900 donation from the Crafty Crafters, a knitting group that sells their creations at local fairs and events. The group is a long supporter of Worcestershire Young Carers, but this is a record amount raised to date.

The Crafty Crafters visited the Senior YSS Young Carers Club earlier this week to present a cheque for the amount, which they raised together with a local flower arranging group. A workshop was also held during the session, focusing on issues such as mental health, body image and peer pressure. Around 40 people attended the evening club, which also included games, pool, arts and crafts and pebble painting and a film.

The money raised will help fund activities such as day trips and activities, which many young carers are often unable to take part in due to their caring role. Worcestershire Young Carers provides activities as well as a range of support for over 550 young carers aged 7 – 25 across the county.
