Our board of trustees, led by Chair David Chantler, is sending a message of thanks to all our volunteers during what would normally be Volunteers Week.

The official event this year has been cancelled; however YSS trustees were keen to express their thanks to all our volunteers, for their continued support, particularly during the Coronavirus lockdown. YSS volunteers have been continuing to work alongside the charity's frontline staff by becoming phone befrienders, giving support, advice, signposting to resources, and providing a listening ear. Between them our volunteers have wealth of knowledge and experience which we have been able to continue to utilise, despite the recent challenges.

David Chantler said:

"I want to thank you on behalf of the trustees for all that you do for YSS and the people we support.  As trustees, we normally keep away from operational matters but these are not normal times.  I am sure you, like many people, have other responsibilities and have had to come to terms with life under lockdown so I just want to say how much we value your contribution and to reassure you that we do understand how difficult it must be to continue to offer support at this time. We hear on a regular basis the work being carried out by volunteers and  the impact you have on the lives of our service users.  Your support enables us to reach more people who are in need of our help.  Keep well and safe and I look forward to the time when we will all be able to meet up again."
