YSS recently became a member of Centrepoint Partnering, a national network of organisations working together to support homeless young people.

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people aged 16-25, and supports more than 10,000 homeless young people every year.

YSS supports some of the most vulnerable people in society, including young people who struggle to keep a roof over their head or who simply don’t have a bed to sleep in at night or a place to call home.

Lorraine Preece, YSS Chief Executive, said: “At YSS we work flexibly, meeting with service users at times and places to suit them, helping them to identify their issues and work with them to support positive changes in their lives. In our thirty year history we have helped some of the most marginalised people in our communities to get off the streets and find appropriate accommodation, overcome issues like drug or alcohol misuse and secure employment.

“I am delighted that YSS has become a member of the Centrepoint Partnering Scheme. The membership gives us the opportunity to demonstrate how we support homeless young people, including young people who are at risk of homelessness or are in temporary accommodation, and will provide us with a platform to inform and change policy at a national level.”
