YSS is delighted to be linking with the Cart Shed, North Hereford, as part of its package of support for veterans. The Cart Shed is a charity that offers opportunities to improve wellbeing, find friendships and a place of calm in a supportive, caring environment.

The Cart Shed's woodlands lend themselves to enabling individuals to overcome and accept episodes in their lives they find difficult to live with; such as a result of the loss of a partner or close friend, difficult working conditions, or poor health. They work with individuals from all backgrounds, lifting labels and minimizing stigma. Their Veterans Programme offers a range of courses, activities and work experience in coppicing, coppice crafts, hedging/fencing and horticulture; practical sessions are designed to give veterans skills and help them 'move on' to new opportunities.

YSS provides support to veterans who are involved in or at risk of becoming involved in, the Criminal Justice System, with the aim of enabling the individuals to access sustainable, independent living whilst reducing the likelihood of offending/reoffending. The service is funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust and West Mercia PCC.
