Upcoming Changes in Management

The next few months will be a period of change for YSS. Our CEO Catherine Kevis will be leaving YSS at the end of April and handing over the baton to her colleague Debb Grantham.

Catherine joined YSS in 2019 and set about developing the charity’s strategy and its Theory of Change along with our new systems. During her time as CEO, we experienced the turbulence of the pandemic and some contractual changes in the National Probation Service. We also had the honour to launch a new service for children of prisoners, Families First, and to instigate new collaborations with organisations from across the Voluntary and Community Sector.

Testimonial

YSS is a very special charity with staff and volunteers who do a fantastic job. What makes YSS special is its breadth of services under one roof and the diversity of skills of a small staff team that supports a large number of individuals and families across a wide geography. It’s been a humbling experience to work with a special bunch of staff and to meet some of the service users who have put their trust in YSS. Long may it continue

Though we are sad to see Catherine go, we are excited to welcome Debb Grantham to the position of Managing Director and we cannot wait to see what the future holds. Debb Grantham joined YSS in 2003 and has fulfilled several positions within the organisation. Prior to her current appointment as Managing Director, Debb was a member of the Senior Management Team.

Testimonial

Having worked for YSS since 2003, I am thrilled and excited to have been offered the role of YSS Managing Director.
You don’t stay at an organisation for nearly 20 years without it being a pretty special place – which is exactly what YSS is. I have witnessed first-hand every day staff and volunteers passion and commitment to making a difference to the lives of the people we support and it makes me proud to be part of such an organisation.
Looking to the future I’m excited to showcase and build on what YSS currently do, explore and work collaboratively through new partnerships, and develop innovative services that evidence sustainable impact. I’m committed to developing an inclusive culture across the whole of YSS whilst continuing to raise awareness around inequality and disadvantage in our local communities. I’m honoured to lead this incredible charity and excited what the future holds for us.
