Location: HMP Hewell & Worcestershire
Hours: 18.5–25 hours per week
Contract: Fixed-term until June 2027
Salary: £12,419.42–£16,783

Help people rebuild their lives through safe and stable accommodation.

At YSS, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to move forward. As an Accommodation Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in helping people within the criminal justice system secure suitable housing and build a stable foundation for their future.

Working across HMP Hewell and the Worcestershire community, you’ll provide practical advice, guidance and ongoing support to help individuals overcome barriers to accommodation and successfully resettle after custody or while serving a community sentence.

What you’ll be doing

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Provide tailored housing advice and guidance to people in the criminal justice system.
  • Assess accommodation needs and develop personalised support plans.
  • Work with local authorities, housing providers and partner organisations to secure suitable accommodation.
  • Support clients to understand their housing rights, responsibilities and tenancy obligations.
  • Manage a busy caseload while maintaining accurate records and meeting service targets.
  • Develop resettlement plans that promote long-term stability and reduce the risk of reoffending.
  • Work collaboratively with prison staff, probation services and community partners to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and contribute to a safe, person-centred service.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is organised, compassionate and committed to making a difference.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience supporting people within the criminal justice system or other complex support settings.
  • Knowledge of housing, homelessness or accommodation services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and case management systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and partnership working.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
