Garden Fundraiser for our Worcestershire Young Carers

On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June, villagers in Wichenford will be opening their gardens once again, in aid of local good causes. We are delighted that our Worcestershire Young Carers service will be one of the beneficiaries from this amazing fundraiser.

Garden of Wichenford Fundraiser 2023

This year there will be 13 beautiful gardens to view, including one which opens for the National Gardens Scheme and was the Regional Winner of the Garden of the Year competition 2021 plus some new ones too.

We’re back with everything that our visitors enjoy – delicious lunches in the garden (including options for special diets), teas at several venues with plenty of home-made cakes, a huge plant stall, a raffle and an exhibition of art by talented local artists.

Many of the gardens have lovely views with some looking to Abberley Clock Tower and Witley Court, others towards the Malvern Hills and from some, you can even see the Cotswolds.

People come from far and wide to enjoy the weekend and yet the entry fee is still only £7 for both days.  For local visitors, the 2 day tickets work really well as they give people more time and if necessary, you can avoid the showers and come back on the second day!!

We’ve been running these events for over 20 years and have raised tens of thousands of pounds, all donated to village and community groups and local charities. This year, proceeds will be shared amongst St Laurence church and the Nora Parsons day centre as well as Acorns and St Richards Hospices, Worcester Foodbank and Worcestershire Young Carers.

This will be a CASH ONLY event so do come prepared. The money from the event will be split between various charitable causes and we are delighted that our Worcestershire Young Carers will be one of those causes.

So whether you’re a keen gardener or you just fancy spending an afternoon wandering round lovely gardens and eating home-made cakes, we’d love to welcome you to Wichenford!
